Enlightenment Festival
Siri Hustvedt will be in conversation online with Professor David Dwan, February 2, 2022 at 2.30pm Eastern Time (7:30 pm UK). The event is hosted by the Linen Hall Library which was founded in 1788 and is the oldest library in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
"Siri Hustvedt discusses the mixed legacy she feels the Enlightenment has left us, exploring, for example, the technology of the microscope and the philosophy of biology, mind/body dualism, and the relationship between individualism and the contemporary neo-liberal reality." The discussion will also focus on Siri’s most recent collection of essays, Mothers, Fathers, and Others, in which feminist philosophy meets family memoir. Sign up here.
"It is Hustvedt’s gift to write with exemplary clarity of what is by necessity unclear." (Hilary Mantel, Guardian)
